Interesting article on how Loudoun is (kind of) trailing behind other counties; Here is an article from Sun Gazette. Some of those assertions (aka, facts) are troubling a bit. I know of a few folks who are doing very well with home schooling, yet they just pay as much for county taxes. They are not only taking burden off of our schools, their kids are doing much better both academically and even socially. Why are those families getting penalized (still they pay taxes, instead of getting additional financial help).
Interesting Loudoun School System Comparison

If the only people that paid taxes to support schools were those that had childern enrolled, it would be so expensive, that most people could not afford to send their childern to school (as is the case in much of the world where this is true). Not everyone has the luxury of staying at home and schooling their kids. Some people don’t have childern. But we all pay in, because it benefits us all that all childern get an affordable education. It’s something you teach your childern- how to share and contribute to the greater good.
